New Webcam From Mauna Kea Looking Towards Mauna Loa, via USGS
11:06 PM · Jun 7, 2021The US Geological Survey has recently added a new near real-time observational position to observe the summit of Mauna Loa, Moku‘āweoweo, and the Northeast Rift Zone. The MKcam joins the USGS, "HVO camera network 2.0", to watch over the northern part of Moku‘āweoweo and the radial vents of Mauna Loa. USGS-HVO's new and improved camera network is intended to monitory all areas of both Maunaloa rift zones, as well as monitoring coverage to fill in gaps on Kilauea near Mauna Ulu, between Pu‘u ‘Ō‘ō and the lower East Rift Zone, and Kīlauea's Southwest Rift Zone. Note: This camera came online sometime between April 8 and June 3 according to the Wayback Machine.
