Maunaloa Eruption Summary, Day 2

On the second day of Maunaloa's eruption, activity remained focused in the Northeast Rift Zone's "Fissure 3" and feeds a long lava flow northwards into the Saddle Road area. After advancing overnight, that flow has reached flatter ground and has significantly slowed. The vent system has not changed since last night, but the situation remains dynamic with further changes still possible that could change the eruption source location or dominant lava flows.
