20 new cases on island via Hawaii DoH. There have been a total of 2,026 (+20) confirmed cases on Hawaiʻi Island according to DoH. There has been 162 cases on island in the last two weeks. 2 hospitalized on the island via last report (HCCD). Civil Defense has also stated that most of the recent cases have been travel related. Hawaii Island Deaths Total: 51 – "7 community at the Hilo Medical Center, 4 community at the Kona Community Hospital, 10 from Life Care Center, per their website, 27 from the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home." (HMC, Life Care Center). Three fatalities are outstanding from classification. Dept of Health is two days behind on the 7-day average tracking of test positivity; the latest positivity rate is at 2.1% on island, and the state's positivity rate is now 3.3%. On Saturday, (1.9.20) there were 611 tests processed in Hawaii County. 1,420 passenger arrivals on island Jan 7th. On December 26th there were 2,333 passenger arrivals, surpassing the previous record for most arrivals since the March and the start of the 14 days quarantine. Passenger arrivals have held steady following Christmas, perhaps being held at higher levels by the ongoing eruption of Kilauea. DoH now lists 45 deaths of 51 reported by HCCD.
