6 new cases on island via Hawaii DoH. There have been a total of 1,822(+6) confirmed cases on Hawaiʻi Island according to DoH. There has been 171 cases on island in the last two weeks. 2 currently hospitalized on the island (HCCD). Hawaii Island Deaths Total: 50 – "7 community at the Hilo Medical Center, 4 community at the Kona Community Hospital, 10 from Life Care Center, per their website, 27 from the Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home." (HMC, Life Care Center). Two fatalities are outstanding from classification. Dept of Health is two days behind on the 7-day average tracking of test positivity; on Dec 19th there was a positivity rate of 1.7% on island, and the state's positivity rate was at 2.8%. On Sunday, (12.20.20) there were 476 tests processed on island. 1,948 passenger arrivals on island Dec 20th. On the 19th there was 2,326 passenger arrivals, surpassing the previous record for most arrivals since the March and the start of the 14 days quarantine. Arrivals had a bump in the week before Thanksgiving, and are having another now before Christmas it appears. STATE STATS: Total Cases Statewide: 20,351* (+66 today) Cases in the past 14 days: 1,688 Total Hospitalizations: 1,413 (+1) Total Deaths: 282 (0) NOTE: Dept of Health on Big Island are at least a 1 month behind in processing deaths. DoH now lists 44 deaths of 50 reported by HCCD.
