Kīlauea & Maunaloa Update, September 23, 2021
3:02 AM · Sep 24, 2021Kīlauea continues to inflate but not much else, and Maunaloa remains quiet apart from a few earthquakes. As always, we examine the current monitoring signals and reports courtesy of the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, discussing live viewer questions at the end of our weekly report, while also sending thoughts and prayers to lava evacuees in the Canary Islands who are currently in a situation reminiscent of Hawaiʻi's 2018 eruption. This program is brought to you in part by a grant from the Hawaiʻi Island Strong Fund of the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation in partnership with the County of Hawaiʻi, and from smaller donations from viewers like you. https://youtu.be/W1ZqEyAGkX0
