Maunaloa has been quiet for four consecutive weeks following the flurry of northwest flank earthquake activity in early April, with fewer earthquakes and no significant change in the summit cross-caldera distance as measured by GPS. We briefly document the current monitoring signals provided courtesy of the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory, as well as discussing live viewer questions as usual. We then turn to our special topic this week: explosions at Maunaloa summit, whose investigation will also take us to Maunaloa's ice caves, a recap of permafrost on Maunakea, and a consideration of our tropical island's former glaciers https://youtu.be/gYW472dbUEw
